Description

In 1776, Rev. Andrews opened a Latin and Greek school under the supervision of the Saint John the Baptist Episcopal Church, North Beaver Street,York. This school evolved into the York County Academy. After leaving York, he became the Rector of Saint Thomas Church in Garrison Forest, Maryland. In 1791, he became a professor of Moral Philosophy, Literature, Composition, Oratory, the Classics, and Logic and Vice-Provost at the University of Pennsylvania. Rev. Andrews then served as Provost of that school from 1810 until his death in 1813.
